Attend The Upcoming Pediatric Device Innovators Forum
A great need currently exists for medical devices designed specifically for children. The Pediatric Device Innovators Forum (PDIF) is a virtual, recurring collaborative educational experience designed to connect and foster synergy among innovators across the technology development ecosystem who are interested in pediatric medical device development.
"The Pediatric Device Innovators Forum will provide a unique opportunity to bring together all those involved in pediatric device development, from scientists and clinicians to industry and regulatory officials, to discuss the most pressing topics in the field. The PPDC is excited to host the first forum," said Joshua Dienstman, Project Manager of the Pennsylvania Pediatric Medical Device Consortium at CHOP.
The Pediatric Device Innovators Forum: Biomaterial Challenges in Pediatric Prosthetic Heart Valve Development
Date: Thursday, March 11, 2021
Time: 3 to 4:30 p.m.
Register for this virtual Airtable event
The Pennsylvania Pediatric Medical Device Consortium (PPDC) and its partners at the McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine, University of Pittsburgh, are hosting the first forum in the PDIF series as part of McGowan's Annual Scientific Retreat.
From pediatric clinicians and surgeons, to academia, engineers, industry, entrepreneurs, investors, and more, this event is for you. Register for this virtual Airtable event and submit questions in advance for the panelists:
- Pediatric heart valve prostheses: Addressing unmet needs — Jonathan Chen, MD (Chief, Cardiothoracic Surgery, CHOP)
- New synthetic biomaterials for pediatric heart valves — William Wagner, PhD (Director, McGowan Institute, Univ. of Pittsburgh)
- Preclinical development of a novel heart valve prosthesis for pediatrics — Narendra Vyavahare, PhD (Professor, Dept. of Bioengineering, Clemson University)
- Pediatric prosthetic heart valve trials in the US — Martijn Cox, PhD (Chief Technology Officer, Xeltis)
- Materials regulation for pediatric heart valves — Scott McNamee, PhD (Materials Engineer, Office of Compliance, CDRH, FDA)
We welcome our local, regional, and national institutional and innovation partners that support pediatric device innovators to create novel pediatric medical devices.
