Dr. Fonseca is the quality control director and head of analytical assay development at the Clinical Vector Core at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. In this role, he focuses on adeno-associated virus and lentiviral vector release testing, development and implementation of new generation assays, and environmental/microbiological facility monitoring.
Bio
As quality control director and head of analytical assay development at the Clinical Vector Core , Dr. Fonseca focuses on adeno-associated virus and lentiviral vector release testing, development and implementation of new generation assays, and environmental/microbiological facility monitoring.
He holds a PhD in Biochemistry from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He completed four postdoctoral fellowships at Harvard Medical School in Gastroenterology, Cornell University in Microbiology, Medical College of Georgia in Vascular Biology, and the Cleveland Clinic in Cell Biology. He has published more than 22 articles in peer-reviewed journals and previously held a faculty position in the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics.
