Since 1996, the Office of Technology Transfer (OTT) has worked with CHOP researchers and healthcare providers to transform their discoveries, products and services that positively impact healthcare. OTT works with our inventors to secure and protect CHOP’s intellectual property. We negotiate agreements and build relationships with other institutions and companies to transfer CHOP breakthroughs to companies that can help patients around the world.
In 2015, CHOP created the Office of Entrepreneurship and Innovation (OEI) to promote entrepreneurship and stimulate the creation of start-ups. OTT and OEI work together to promote CHOP discoveries. The Office of Technology Transfer provides OEI, investigators, staff and faculty with intellectual property, contract, and licensing expertise to help move technologies forward for public use and benefit.
