Anorexia Nervosa

The purpose of this study is to evaluate social interactions in adolescents and whether changes in information can influence social behaviors.

This Shifting Perspectives study explores whether we can improve treatment outcomes in teens with anorexia nervosa by adding Adolescent Focused Cognitive Remediation Therapy (CRT) to Family Based Treatment (FBT). CRT focuses on improving cognitive and behavioral flexibility in adolescents.

The Timko Research Group is a dynamic research group examining a range of topics related to eating disorders, particularly anorexia nervosa and malnutrition.

A new study investigates whether flexible thinking may lead to flexible behavior for adolescents with anorexia and their parents.

Dr. Timko is a psychologist and researcher focused on understanding the development and maintenance of eating disorders in adolescents. Currently, her interest is in the neurobiology of anorexia, the role of neurocognition in eating disorder maintenance, sex differences in eating disorders, and the development of new treatments for youth with eating disorders.
