Eating Disorders

The purpose of this study is to evaluate social interactions in adolescents and whether changes in information can influence social behaviors.

The Eating Disorder Research Program engages in research focused on physical, psychological, and behavioral aspects of the development, maintenance, and treatment of eating disorders. Our mission is to deepen our understanding of them, identify risk biomarkers, and improve treatment for all youth with eating disorders.

This Shifting Perspectives study explores whether we can improve treatment outcomes in teens with anorexia nervosa by adding Adolescent Focused Cognitive Remediation Therapy (CRT) to Family Based Treatment (FBT). CRT focuses on improving cognitive and behavioral flexibility in adolescents.

The Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences' research aims to improve the immediate health and developmental trajectory of children.

A new study investigates whether flexible thinking may lead to flexible behavior for adolescents with anorexia and their parents.

Dr. Stallings is working on intervention trials involving three chronic diseases with nutrition-related abnormalities resulting in meaningful adverse outcomes: cystic fibrosis (new drugs), sickle cell disease (vitamin A) and chronic pancreatitis (enzyme replacement drug).
