The Clinical Data Interoperability Services (CDIS) feature on CHOP REDCap provides easy-to-use data pulls for some clinical data from EPIC to REDCap. CDIS projects allow REDCap users to pull EPIC data from the following areas:

  • Problem list
  • Demographics (e.g. name, dob)
  • Immunization list
  • Allergy list
  • Laboratory (e.g. WBC, hematocrit, A1c)
  • Medications 
  • Vital Signs (e.g. body weight, blood pressure)

Protocols must have IRB approval to access EPIC data or an IRB determination of exemption, and project teams must work directly with the REDCap team to turn on this feature.
