Welcome to the SECURE-VA registry, designed to capture important information about pediatric and adult COVID-19 cases that are occurring across the world in patients living with vascular anomalies. The goal of this voluntary reporting system is to better understand outcomes of COVID-19 cases in this population of patients.

Providers caring for patients with vascular anomalies can report all of their cases of COVID-19 to the SECURE-VA registry. The reporting of a case takes approximately 5 to 10 minutes.

Please report only confirmed COVID-19 cases, and report after sufficient time has passed to observe the disease course through resolution of acute illness or death. In addition, please report COVID-19 cases to your local public health agency as appropriate.

Report a case of COVID-19 in a patient with vascular anomalies

Working collaboratively with the vascular anomalies community worldwide, researchers hope to quickly characterize the impact of COVID-19 on patients with vascular anomalies and understand the impact of risk factors such as genotype, prior vascular anomaly complications, or vascular anomaly disease-related medications, on health outcomes.

The Committees for the Protection of Human Subjects at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia have determined that the collection of this data meets the exemption criteria as defined under federal regulations [45 CFR 46.104(ii)] and does not require IRB approval.
