N. Scott Adzick

The founder and director of CHOP's Center for Fetal Diagnosis and Treatment, Dr. Adzick is an innovator in the field of fetal medicine, pursuing groundbreaking prenatal treatment for debilitating birth defects. He led the NIH-funded "Management of Myelomeningocele Study" (MOMS) at CHOP, a breakthrough research program that showed fetal surgery for spina bifida results in significantly improved outcomes.

William H. Peranteau

Dr. Peranteau is an attending surgeon in the Division of Pediatric General, Thoracic and Fetal Surgery and an associate professor of Surgery at CHOP. His research interest is in fetal development as it relates to the potential understanding of and fetal intervention for congenital anomalies.

Alan W. Flake, MD
Alan W. Flake

Dr. Flake is a general pediatric surgeon with a clinical and research focus on prenatal treatment ranging from the fetal surgical repair of anatomic anomalies to prenatal stem cell and gene therapy. He has extensive experience in developing rodent, canine, and sheep models for in utero transplantation and for investigating fetal surgery for anatomic malformations.

Emily A. Partridge

Dr. Partridge is a pediatric and fetal surgeon with the Division of Pediatric General, Thoracic and Fetal Surgery and an assistant professor of Surgery. Her research areas of expertise include the development of an artificial placenta and pumpless extracorporeal membrane oxygenation in congenital diaphragmatic hernia.

Dr Shelly Soni's research includes clinical work involving prenatal diagnosis and fetal therapy. She also focuses on maternal outcomes after fetal intervention as well as appropriate obstetrical management in pregnancies involving fetal anomalies.

Eric Chien-Wei Liao, MD, PhD

Dr. Liao is a pediatric plastic surgeon-scientist and the founding director of the Center for Craniofacial Innovation at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. His research leverages convergent advances in fetal care, human genetics, and developmental biology to initiate first-in-child trials and treatments.
