Alan W. Flake, MD
Alan W. Flake

Dr. Flake is a general pediatric surgeon with a clinical and research focus on prenatal treatment ranging from the fetal surgical repair of anatomic anomalies to prenatal stem cell and gene therapy. He has extensive experience in developing rodent, canine, and sheep models for in utero transplantation and for investigating fetal surgery for anatomic malformations.

Ana G. Cristancho, MD, PhD
Ana G. Cristancho

Dr. Cristancho is a child neurologist specializing in Fetal and Neonatal Neurology. Her research focuses on understanding the mechanisms that regulate the extent of disabilities some kids have after prenatal and neonatal brain injury. Her goal is to help develop novel therapeutic interventions.

E-mail:
cristanchoa [at] chop.edu
Andrea F. Duncan, MD, MS
Andrea F. Duncan

Dr. Duncan's main research interest is in long-term medical and neurodevelopmental outcomes of NICU graduates. She evaluates executive functioning and brain connectivity in high-risk infants and infants with cerebral palsy and researches parenting style in high-risk infant development.

E-mail:
duncana2 [at] chop.edu
Stella T. Chou, MD
Stella T. Chou, MD

Dr. Chou focuses on regenerative blood cellular therapy, the mechanisms of normal human hematopoietic development, and the pathophysiology of pediatric hematologic diseases.

E-mail:
chous [at] chop.edu
Maurizio Pacifici, PhD
Maurizio Pacifici

Dr. Pacifici's biomedical research spans three decades and has explored mechanisms of skeletal development and growth in fetal and postnatal life. Specifically, his focus has been on identifying the cellular and molecular mechanisms that regulate the differentiation of progenitor cells and permit assembly of distinct skeletal structures, and on aberrations of these mechanisms in pediatric skeletal disorders.

E-mail:
pacificim [at] chop.edu
Thomas F. Kolon, MD
Thomas F. Kolon

Dr. Kolon is an expert in the care of children with genital disorders and renal/bladder/prostate cancers. His expertise in pediatric urologic oncology includes optimizing organ-sparing surgery and preservation of fertility in oncology patients.

E-mail:
kolon [at] chop.edu
Sara E. Pinney, MD, MS
Sara E. Pinney

Dr. Pinney investigates the molecular mechanisms that link an adverse intrauterine milieu to the development of diabetes and obesity later in life. Specifically, she is researching how intrauterine growth restriction, gestational diabetes and in utero exposure to environmental toxicants contribute to the development of diabetes and obesity in offspring.

E-mail:
pinneys [at] chop.edu
Sara Handley, MD, MSCE
Sara C. Handley

Dr. Handley is a health services researcher focused on evaluating the impact of the perinatal health care system on outcomes. Perinatal factors in her research include regionalization (i.e. levels of care), organizational culture (i.e. patient-centered care), and neonatal care processes.

E-mail:
handleys [at] chop.edu
Jane E. Schreiber, PhD, ABPP-Cn
Jane E. Schreiber

Dr. Schreiber is a pediatric neuropsychologist in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and the Division of Pediatric General, Thoracic and Fetal Surgery at CHOP. Her research focuses on neurobehavioral outcomes in children with complex medical conditions.

E-mail:
schreiberj [at] chop.edu
Narasaiah Kovuru, PhD
Narasaiah Kovuru

Narasaiah Kovuru’s research focuses on understanding the origins of hematopoietic failure/bone marrow failure in Fanconi Anemia working with the murine model.
