Dr. Schwartz's research focuses on behavioral and psychosocial aspects of cancer and its treatment in adolescents and young adults (AYAs), a group of patients with unique medical and psychosocial challenges. Most of her current studies aim to understand and improve self-management among AYAs.

Dr. Myers' research focuses on studies related to pediatric and adolescent injury prevention.

Lisa Blaskey, PhD, is a clinical neuropsychologist at the Center for Autism Research and the Lurie Family Foundations MEG Imaging Center. Dr. Blaskey serves as a co-investigator and clinical expert on ASD neuroimaging studies, designing clinical and neuropsychological phenotyping batteries.

Dr. Laura Cubit conducts comprehensive developmental and diagnostic evaluations for children from infancy through adolescence, including autism evaluations. She also provides Parent-Child Interaction Therapy for children and their families. Dr. Cubit supervises clinical trainees and research staff.

Dr. Cardinale's research is focused on understanding the mechanisms of gene expression and gene regulation in autoimmune diseases, including inflammatory bowel disease, type 1 diabetes, and systemic sclerosis. He uses data from large-scale genomic studies to identify disease-causing genetic variants and functionally explore the target genes of those variants.

Dr. Licht is the director of the Wolfson Family Laboratory for Clinical and Biomedical Optics. His research focuses on the development and use of novel noninvasive optical devices to probe cerebrovascular hemodynamics and physiology in vivo. These devices are used in clinical and preclinical studies to discover the timing and causes of brain injury during care.

Dr. Hocking’s research aims to better understand the neurodevelopmental consequences of having survived childhood cancer or having neurofibromatosis type 1, to identify those who are most at risk for poor outcomes, and to intervene in some way in order to improve quality of life.

Dr. Marsh's research program focuses on understanding how changes in brain development lead to epilepsy, intellectual disability, and autism. He combines molecular and physiological tools in mouse models to ask questions about the interaction of normal development with single gene mutations to determine how the brain responds to perturbations in development.

Dr. Fein conducts youth violence prevention research and has been the principal investigator (PI) or co-investigator of numerous federally funded projects addressing the youth violence epidemic through mixed-methods research, particularly community-based, participatory research (CBPR). He is currently the PI for a NICHD-funded study looking at the impact of a post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) prevention program on assault-injured youth and their families.

Dr. Shah's clinical research interests are focused in the areas of neurofibromatosis type 1 and retinoblastoma. These studies range from translational studies to clinical trials of novel therapeutics to international consortiums studying long-term effects of therapy.
