Jessica Rice, DO, MHS
Jessica Rice

Dr. Rice’s research interests are in the field of environmental science and premature lung disease. She is the recipient of an NIH K23 Mentored Patient-Oriented Research Career Development award to study the effects of indoor air pollution on respiratory outcomes in preterm infants.

Sharon McGrath-Morrow, MBA, MD
Sharon A. McGrath-Morrow

Dr. McGrath-Morrow is associate chief of the Division of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine and leader of the Post-preemie Lung Disease Clinic at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Her research seeks to link early life events with adult lung health and biomarker discovery for future trials.

E-mail:
mcgrathmos [at] chop.edu
Sara E. Pinney, MD, MS
Sara E. Pinney

Dr. Pinney investigates the molecular mechanisms that link an adverse intrauterine milieu to the development of diabetes and obesity later in life. Specifically, she is researching how intrauterine growth restriction, gestational diabetes and in utero exposure to environmental toxicants contribute to the development of diabetes and obesity in offspring.

E-mail:

Emily F. Gregory, MD, MHS
Emily F. Gregory

Dr. Gregory's overall career goal is to develop clinical programs to decrease rates of preterm birth. As a pediatric primary care physician-researcher, she seeks to leverage existing pediatric systems and opportunities for care to achieve this goal.

E-mail:
gregorye [at] chop.edu
Ariel A. Williamson, PhD, DBSM
Ariel A. Williamson

Dr. Williamson's research integrates socio-ecological theory, community-engaged methods, and implementation science principles to understand and address child sleep problems and sleep health inequities.

E-mail:
williamsoa [at] chop.edu
Tristan J. Hayeck, PhD
Tristan J. Hayeck

Dr. Hayeck’s research focuses on statistical genetics, genetic epidemiology, and evolutionary genetics. His lab develops software tools to improve our understanding of the impact of genetic variation on disease. The goal of his research is to advance translational and precision medicine.

E-mail:
hayeckt [at] chop.edu
Evan Weber, PhD
Evan W. Weber

Dr. Weber is developing approaches to enhance CAR-T cell therapies for pediatric cancer by reprogramming T cells with improved durability and exhaustion resistance. His work will uncover molecular mechanisms that promote CAR-T cell exhaustion and identify new targets for therapeutic intervention.

Aaron Alexander-Bloch, MD, PhD
Aaron Alexander-Bloch, MD, PhD

Dr. Alexander-Bloch investigates normal brain development and the altered developmental trajectories that lead to mental illness. His multi-disciplinary research integrates brain imaging, genomics and clinical information.

E-mail:

Struan F.A. Grant, PhD
Photo of Struan F.A. Grant

Dr. Grant uses high-throughput genotyping and sequencing technologies, combined with statistical and bioinformatic approaches, to unravel genomic puzzles related to multiple common complex traits.

E-mail:

Nancy B. Spinner, PhD
Nancy B. Spinner

Dr. Spinner's research focuses on the etiology and expressivity of pediatric developmental disorders. She uses genomic methods to focus on the multisystem disorder Alagille syndrome and biliary atresia, a likely heterogeneous and poorly understood condition. She is also interested in using genomic tools to continue to improve diagnostic rates for constitutional genetic disorders.
