Dr. Tunç is a computational scientist investigating the application of machine learning and statistical data analysis in various domains such as digital phenotyping, nature of psychopathology, and neuroimaging. He participates in studies using normative, developmental, and clinical samples to parse heterogeneity in psychiatric disorders by developing novel computational techniques.
Dr. Timko is a psychologist and researcher focused on understanding the development and maintenance of eating disorders in adolescents. Currently, her interest is in the neurobiology of anorexia, the role of neurocognition in eating disorder maintenance, sex differences in eating disorders, and the development of new treatments for youth with eating disorders.
Dr. Anderson’s research interests focus on the molecular and cellular mechanisms that govern the development of the mammalian forebrain. In his research on the development of the cerebral cortex, he is particularly interested in understanding the molecular underpinnings behind the fate determination and axon targeting of subclasses of GABAergic interneurons implicated in the neuropathology of schizophrenia.
Dr. Gmuca seeks to enhance the care of children with chronic musculoskeletal pain. Her current research addresses amplified musculoskeletal pain syndrome, which is a major public health issue because of its high prevalence, related socioeconomic burden, and associated risk of opioid exposure. Dr. Gmuca’s work aims to identify innovative strategies to improve long-term treatment outcomes for this patient population.
Dr. Goldberg's research program focuses on investigating cerebral cortical circuit function and dysfunction in neurodevelopmental disorders. Using a variety of research techniques, Dr. Goldberg has a specific research interest in the workings of neuron subtype called GABAergic inhibitory interneuron and the role of interneuron dysfunction in disease.
Dr. Eisch is a neuroscientist interested in how molecular, cellular, and circuit changes—particularly in the limbic system—influence motivated behavior and cognition. She is specifically interested in how neuroplasticity in the hippocampal dentate gyrus contributes to both normal and pathological function with relevance to depression and addiction.
Dr. Foster’s current research focuses on immunotherapy for pediatric solid and brain tumors. Specifically she is investigating chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapy for neuroblastoma, high-grade gliomas, medulloblastomas, diffuse intrinsic pontine gliomas, and other brain tumors. The goals of her research are to develop pre-clinical CAR T cells for translation into clinical trials to help these devastating tumors.
Dr. Corwin’s research focuses on pediatric concussion. He has a particular interest in improving the diagnosis and initial management of pediatric concussion, specifically using specialized examination techniques to identify shortly following the injury those children at highest risk for a prolonged recovery, as well as ways to maximize the diagnostic accuracy from the Emergency Department.
