Ana G. Cristancho, MD, PhD

Dr. Cristancho is a child neurologist specializing in Fetal and Neonatal Neurology. Her research focuses on understanding the mechanisms that regulate the extent of disabilities some kids have after prenatal and neonatal brain injury. Her goal is to help develop novel therapeutic interventions.

Angela N. Viaene, MD, PhD

Dr. Viaene's research interests include thalamocortical projections, CNS tumors, neurogenetic disorders, and hypoxic/ischemic brain injury.

Shih-Shan Lang Chen, MD

Dr. Chen's research focuses on traumatic brain injury (TBI), multimodal neuromonitoring, and neurovascular disorders. She is interested in non-invasive forms of neuromonitoring thus leading to research efforts identifying reliable non-invasive methods for detecting intracranial hypertension in multiple disease processes including TBI and craniosynostosis.

Matthew P. Kirschen, MD, PhD

Dr. Kirschen’s research interest is pediatric neurocritical care. His work focuses on using multimodality neuromonitoring and neuroimaging to detect and prevent brain injury in critically ill children, predicting recovery after severe acute brain injury, and the accurate diagnosis of brain death.

Shavonne L. Massey, MD, MSCE

Dr. Massey's research focuses on epilepsy, diagnosis and management of seizures in high risk neonatal populations, and EEG biomarker development

Daniel J. Corwin, MD, MSCE

Dr. Corwin’s research focuses on pediatric concussion. He has a particular interest in improving the diagnosis and initial management of pediatric concussion, specifically using specialized examination techniques to identify shortly following the injury those children at highest risk for a prolonged recovery, as well as ways to maximize the diagnostic accuracy from the Emergency Department.

Daniel J. Licht, MD

Dr. Licht is the director of the Wolfson Family Laboratory for Clinical and Biomedical Optics. His research focuses on the development and use of novel noninvasive optical devices to probe cerebrovascular hemodynamics and physiology in vivo. These devices are used in clinical and preclinical studies to discover the timing and causes of brain injury during care.

Kristy B. Arbogast, PhD

As a bioengineer, Dr. Arbogast's research focuses on pediatric injury biomechanics, injury causation and the effectiveness of safety products for children with a concentration in the safety of children and youth in motor vehicle crashes as well as pediatric concussion.

Brian R. White, MD, PhD

Dr. White develops novel optical functional neuroimaging systems and algorithms to better understand pediatric neuronal injury. His research includes optical intrinsic signal imaging, diffuse optical tomography, and resting-state functional connectivity.
