Dr. Xing is the Executive Director of the Department of Biomedical and Health Informatics, the Francis West Lewis Chair and director of the Center for Computational and Genomic Medicine at CHOP, and professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. His research focuses on computational biology and genomics of RNA processing and regulation.

Dr. Wang's research focuses on the development of bioinformatics methods to improve the understanding of the genetic basis of human diseases, and the integration of electronic health records and genomic information to facilitate genomic medicine on scale.

Dr. Sgourakis’ research focuses on understanding the intricate molecular mechanisms that determine the vast repertoire of peptide antigens displayed by the proteins of the Major Histocompatibility Complex for immune surveillance by T cells and Natural Killer cells.

Dr. Master works to understand the biochemical pathways related to inborn errors of metabolism, particularly as they relate to mitochondrial function. He also focuses on bioinformatics and machine learning solutions to problems in mass spectrometry and laboratory medicine.

Dr. Glessner’s current research focuses on childhood neuropsychiatric and neurodevelopmental disorders along with the genetic architecture associated with them, including single nucleotide polymorphisms, single nucleotide variations, and copy number variations ascertained by genomic technologies.

Dr. Thomas-Tikhonenko has a long-standing interest in the pathobiology of solid and hematopoietic malignancies, in particular lymphomas and leukemias and other cancers driven by MYC overexpression. Within that research space, his studies focus mainly (but not exclusively) on RNA-based regulatory mechanisms, such as microRNAs and alternative mRNA splicing.

Dr. Falk is a Clinical Geneticist who serves as executive director of the Mitochondrial Medicine Frontier Program. Her translational research lab investigates the causes and global metabolic consequences of mitochondrial disease, as well as targeted therapies, in C. elegans, zebrafish, mouse, and human tissue models of genetic-based respiratory chain dysfunction.

Dr. Hakonarson is director of the Center for Applied Genomics and professor of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania. He leads a $40 million commitment from Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia to genomically characterize approximately 100,000 children, an initiative that has gained nationwide attention in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Time Magazine, Nature, and Science.

Dr. Wells studies the genetic, epigenetic, and transcriptional mechanisms that control T lymphocyte immunity and tolerance.
