Bio

Shelby Maldavir recently joined CHOP as the program coordinator for the Office of Academic Training and the Office of Faculty Development.

She joined CHOP after spending two years at Touro Law Center in New York as the Continuing Legal Education Coordinator, creating and executing educational programs tailored for alumni and local legal professionals. Maldavir's passion for working in higher education stemmed from experience at the University of Delaware as a student worker in the Human Development and Family Services office.

In her current role, she provides administrative and programming support to faculty members, research trainees, and staff, including the CHOP Postdoctoral Alliance Steering Committee. Additionally, she is working to expand grant support resources by collecting sample grants to be made available to the community, assists in the Travel Award program, and serves as the point of contact for CHOP's PennKey services.

Maldavir is also responsible for coordinating key events like the Research Institute Seminar Series and Poster Day and Scientific Symposium, ensuring that these events provide meaningful opportunities for knowledge sharing and collaboration. Additionally, she supports faculty and staff by offering booking services for those learning to navigate Pivot, a research funding tool, helping them identify and access relevant grant opportunities.
