Bio

Dr. Tanaka received his bachelor's degree and PhD in biology from Temple University in 2007 and 2014. His dissertation was to investigate polymorphisms in cone CNG channels associated with daylight and colorblindness. Afterwards, he was a postdoctoral fellow in the same department studying contributing factors to delirium and dementia, such as aging and immune challenges. He joined the Rivella lab in January 2019 and is part of the gene therapy team, the Sickle Cell and Red Cell Disorder Curative Therapy Center (CuRED).
