Dr. Ramirez worked as a general practitioner for two years in emergency medicine and ambulatory surgery in Columbia, her native country, after completing her education. She was also part of an educational group where she worked with vulnerable populations giving lectures about different public health topics. Prior to joining CHOP, Dr. Ramirez volunteered at Children's National Hospital working on different retrospective studies.

In 2017, Dr. Ramirez graduated from Rosario University, Bogota, Colombia and finished an epidemiology specialization in Columbia.
