Bio

Brian Fisher, DO, MSCE, MPH is a core faculty member of the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Epidemiology and Antimicrobial Stewardship (IDEAS) research group at Clinical Futures, a Research Institute Center of Emphasis at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP.) Dr. Fisher's research focuses on infections in children with immunocompromising conditions. He is particularly interested in infections in children with cancer and serves as the Chair of the Infectious Disease Committee within the Children’s Oncology Group. This committee designs and performs large clinical trials aimed at improving diagnostic and therapeutic approaches for the prevention and management of infections in children with cancer. Dr. Fisher is also the Director of the International Pediatric Fungal Network. This network consists of researchers from over 50 international pediatric centers focused on optimizing diagnostic and therapeutic approaches for invasive fungal disease management in children.

Dr. Fisher is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Epidemiology in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Infectious Diseases at CHOP, and Senior Scholar in the Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics (CCEB) at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Fisher also serves as the Associate Chair of Research for the Department of Pediatrics at CHOP.
