Dr. Sridharan is a research scientist with a focus on advanced ultrasound imaging techniques.
Bio
Dr. Sridharan has a keen interest in applying engineering concepts in the medical field. As a graduate student, he developed image processing algorithms for improving the visualization of plaque using ultrasound imaging. This project led to his foray into the world of ultrasound imaging and specifically ultrasound contrast agents. He is interested in exploring the use of these novel and robust agents for diagnostic and therapeutic application in pediatrics. His current focus is both on preclinical and clinical research studies for use of these agents and areas of interest include characterization of fetal and neonatal brain injury, 3D ultrasound of the kidney, feature extraction, image segmentation and ultrasound sonoporation.
Dr. Sridharan received his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Drexel University through a collaborative research project in ultrasound imaging with Thomas Jefferson University. He also completed his MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Drexel.
