This year’s conference will be held virtually from Thursday, August 27 to Saturday, August 29.

The goal of the virtual conference is to encourage the adoption of statistical modeling and reproducible data processing in clinical practice by promoting the use of the R programming environment and ecosystem. CHOP is sponsoring R/Medicine 2020, and Stephan Kadauke, MD, PhD, Assistant Director of the Cell and Gene Therapy Laboratory, is the Chair of its organizing committee.

NOTE: Postdocs, residents, and fellows count as “students” and therefore only pay $10 for conference registration, which also includes Intro to R and Intro to Machine Learning workshops.

Conference Highlights

  • Thursday, August 27 - All-day workshop; you can choose either Intro to R for Clinicians or Intro to Machine Learning with Tidymodels.
  • Friday and Saturday, August 28-29 - You can choose from a mix of 10-minute (lightning) talks, 20-minute standard talks, and longer keynote talks by influential members of the R community, including Daniela Witten and Robert Gentleman
  • The spectrum of talks will range from introductory to advanced topics and include a mixture of clinicians, researchers, students, and other healthcare professionals.
