One of the most profound changes in the past decade has been the widespread proliferation of technology and data science in health care, such as electronic health records and patient registries. However, health technology adoption has not been equitable, and many developing countries still require support for the development and use of digital data in health care. Cross-sector collaborations amongst health care and technical communities from both developed and developing countries have a critical role in harnessing the potential of technology and data science in health care communities to improve health for everyone, everywhere.

Series Overview

To strengthen and accelerate collaborative research, innovation, and education among health care and technical communities, the CHOP Global Health Informatics program is hosting a free virtual seminar series on the topic of health technology and data science in global settings, with implementation considerations in developing countries.

Featuring global guest presenters, this speaker series spotlights the critical but overlooked field of global health informatics and its relevance for data scientists, educators, researchers, advocators, and clinicians. We invite you to join the discussion, contribute your ideas, and grow a community of global collaborative research, education, and innovation.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand how information technology can improve health for everyone, everywhere.
  • Learn from global partners’ successes and challenges in developing and implementing sustainable, scalable health technology and data science resources.
  • Explore how your work can contribute to strengthening health care systems around the globe
