Center for Autism Research
Launched in 2008, the work of the Center for Autism Research at Children's Hospital is guided by a three-part mission to understand the causes of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in order to develop effective treatments through research; serve the needs of individuals with ASD and their families through education and guidance throughout the lifespan; and train the next generation of master clinicians and scientists in state-of-the-science best practices for autism screening, diagnosis, and treatment.
At the heart of the CAR's work is a multidisciplinary team made up of psychologists, data scientists, developmental pediatricians, neurologists, nurses, social workers, radiologists, and computer scientists who bring their unique knowledge and experiences to CAR's mission. Each CAR project and initiative is a cross-disciplinary effort to discover ways to dramatically improve the lives of individuals with ASD and related conditions from infancy through adulthood.
