Studying and Fostering Resilience During COVID-19
Researchers at the Lifespan Brain Institute of Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania have launched a research website, covid19resilience.org, to study stress and resiliency during the COVID-19 pandemic.
As soon as the outbreak reached the United States, the research team created an online tool that measures resilience through a brief online survey and provides immediate feedback to responders.
The unique aspect of this project is that after participating in a 10-minute survey, participants immediately receive their personal resilience profile with individualized recommendations on how to improve resilience and well-being, and reduce stress.
Visit https://covid19resilience.org to take the survey and receive your resilience profile.
More than 5,000 people have taken the survey, generating data that will improve understanding of what makes some people resilient and others vulnerable to COVID-19 related stress. The researchers expect that the results of this study will improve identification of factors that put individuals at risk of developing anxiety and depression during and following the pandemic, allowing preventive or early interventions.
