Subject: Scott Johnson, MBA, New Director of New Ventures and Innovation
I am excited to announce Scott Johnson, MBA, joined the Office of Entrepreneurship and Innovation (OEI) Sept. 23 as the Director of New Ventures and Innovation. In this newly created role, Scott will oversee the creation of new companies based on promising Children's Hospital of Philadelphia-developed technologies, in addition to other responsibilities related to technology commercialization.
Scott has over 12 years of business development and finance experience. Most recently, he led commercialization and venture activities at Thomas Jefferson University, including the formation of new businesses and their integration into healthcare systems. He structured multi-year strategic partnerships to drive revenue and enhanced the university’s brand and innovative patient care.
Prior to Thomas Jefferson University, Scott was an assistant director of Financial Planning and Analysis at Harvard University, where he led the financial planning and operations, strategy, and budgeting activities. He established and was on the Board of the Harvard Entrepreneur Connection, which provides mentorship and financial sponsorship to entrepreneurs. He earned both his MBA and engineering degree from the University of Delaware.
