Prepare for NIH Mandated Data Sharing
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has issued a Final NIH Policy for Data Management and Sharing (effective January 25, 2023), that requires NIH funded researchers to submit a Data Management and Sharing Plan (DMSP) outlining how scientific data from their research will be managed and shared. The plan will need to describe the following:
- Data type
- Related tools, software, and/or code
- Standards
- Preservation, access, and associated timelines
- Access, distribution, and reuse considerations
- Oversight of data management and sharing
The Arcus Research Data Management Team can help explain how this policy will affect you and what you will need to do to comply. Pre-Award Research Administration will also be issuing guidance as to how these changes will impact your proposal.
Reserve a Date to Attend a Presentation
Save these dates on your calendar. The Arcus Research Data Management team at CHOP will present the NIH 2023 DMSP Requirements and share how they can help you develop your plan. There are 2 available opportunities for you to attend so you can choose the day that fits your schedule. More information will be provided as we get closer to the presentation dates.
- December 7, 2022 – 1 PM – 2 PM
- January 12, 2023 – 1 PM – 2 PM
You can also Request a Consultation
Arcus team members are available starting December 5, 2022, to meet with you to discuss your specific needs and help you draft your data management and sharing plan.
