Sincerely, a warm welcome goes out to Brent Bell, BA, CRA, Director of Pre-Award Research Administration and to Liza Craig, BBA, MS, CRA, Director of Post-Award Research Administration and Research Portfolio Management, as they start their leadership positions here at the Research Institute.

Brent Bell, a CHOP alumni, comes back to Philadelphia to serve as the Director, Pre-Award with nearly 20 years of research administration experience — most recently from Northwestern University in Chicago, where he served as Associate Director of Research Administration in the Feinberg School of Medicine. Not only is Brent a seasoned pre-award professional but also he has direct experience in post-award grants management. Brent is an active member of the National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA) and the Society of Research Administrators (SRA). Brent will be responsible for overseeing the office formally known as Sponsored Projects.

Liza Craig brings over 13 years of experience to her new role as director of Post-Award Research Administration and Research Portfolio Management. She is a well-regarded post-award professional, committing the previous eight years of her career to CHOP, most recently as a RBM Manager. She worked at the University of Pennsylvania in post-award portfolio management positions, prior to CHOP. Liza is also an active member of NCURA and has earned countless certificates in organizational leadership and development. Liza will be responsible for overseeing the office formally known as Research Business Management.
