Apply by Jan. 21, 2025, for the PCEN Summer Research Scholars Program
The Pediatric Center of Excellence in Nephrology (PCEN) at CHOP invites undergraduate, postgraduate, and medical students to apply for the 2025 Summer Research Scholars Program. The program aims to inspire future leaders in pediatric kidney disease research by engaging students in meaningful research and clinical experiences in pediatric nephrology.
The eight-week program runs from June 9, 2025, to Aug. 1, 2025, with some flexibility in dates. Students will work with a mentor on a research project and will have opportunities for:
- Practical research training and mentorship
- Didactic training
- Clinical shadowing in nephrology.
Participants also will attend seminars about research and careers in medicine and will take one or more courses on epidemiology or data science.
Eligibility
Undergraduate, postgraduate, and medical students who are currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited college or university may apply. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents.
Amount for Award
Students receive a $4,500 stipend; the program does not provide housing.

Faculty recommendation letters are due Monday, Jan. 27, 2025, by 11:59 p.m. ET.
Applicants selected for interviews will be notified in mid-March 2025.
